1. Filling the tank
Unscrew the cap and pour your chosen cleaning product through the wide filling opening. Don't overfill – leave approximately 10% air space for optimal pump operation. Close the cap tightly.
2. Building pressure
Pump the hand pump 10-15 times until you feel resistance. This pressure will provide a strong, even stream for several minutes of work. You can pump more during cleaning if needed.
3. Nozzle adjustment
Turn the spray nozzle to set the appropriate spray pattern. A narrow stream works best for chains and suspension, wide spray for fairings and tanks. Test on a neutral surface before application.
4. Product application
Hold the sprayer 20-30 cm from the surface. Press the trigger and cover the vehicle with even motion, from top to bottom. Active foam should form a thick layer on the entire surface.
5. Cleaning after use
After finishing work, rinse the tank with clean water. Pump several times with water to also clean internal lines and the nozzle. Leaving product residue may lead to system clogging.
Important
Don't use the sprayer with unknown or incompatible substances. Don't direct the nozzle at people or animals. Check seal condition each season – replace them if you notice signs of wear. Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight.
Tip
If the stream weakens despite pumping, pressure has probably dropped – pump an additional 5-10 times. When cleaning multiple vehicles, prepare a separate sprayer for degreasing products and another for protective coatings – you'll avoid having to rinse between work stages.
Can I use the sprayer with any cleaning product?
Yes, OC1 Workshop Sprayer is compatible with a wide range of cleaning products, including corrosive chemicals. VITON seals are resistant to aggressive substances. However, we recommend always checking compatibility of specific products with sprayer materials, especially with new, unknown products.
How many vehicles can I wash on one fill?
With 5-litre capacity and average consumption of 1.5-2 litres per vehicle, you can wash approximately 3-4 motorcycles or bicycles. The exact number depends on dirt level and vehicle size – large enduro motorcycles may require more product than compact road bicycles.
How often do VITON seals need replacing?
VITON seals are extremely durable and can last for years, even with daily intensive use. Check their condition each season – if you notice signs of cracking, hardening or fluid leakage, replace the seals. Regular sprayer cleaning significantly extends their lifespan.
Is the sprayer suitable for applying protective coatings?
Yes, this is one of its key applications. The sprayer works great for applying liquid waxes, hydrophobic coatings like Polish&Protect, sealants and protectants. Even spraying guarantees professional application without streaks and product excess.
Can I use the sprayer with active foam?
Absolutely, the sprayer was designed to work with Active Foam and other active foams. The high-pressure pump generates enough force for foam to create a thick, adherent layer on the vehicle surface. This is the most effective way to apply foam without using a pressure washer.
How do I clean the sprayer after use?
Rinse the tank with clean water immediately after finishing work. Fill it halfway with water, pump several times and spray to flush internal lines and the nozzle. Allow to dry with the cap open. This prevents system clogging and ensures readiness for next use.
Is the sprayer safe for all motorcycle surfaces?
The sprayer itself is a neutral application tool – safety depends on the cleaning product used. Always check product compatibility with motorcycle materials (carbon fibre, anodised metal, plastics). The sprayer introduces no additional substances, so it doesn't affect the properties of the fluid used.
What pressure does the hand pump generate?
The pump generates pressure sufficient for effective application of foam and liquid products at a distance of 20-30 cm. This is not a pressure washer – the sprayer is for applying products, not rinsing under high pressure. This is a safer solution for delicate motorcycle elements.
