Why protect a bike after washing?

Washing removes the dirt but leaves the surface exposed. A protected frame gets dirty more slowly and washes off more easily next time — mud does not bond with the paintwork, it runs off with the water.

This is not cosmetics. The less dirt clings to the frame and drivetrain, the fewer times you reach for cleaning products and the less work the next service means.

What should you use on the frame?

OC1 Bike Shine is a maintenance spray that leaves a thin hydrophobic coating on the frame. Apply it to a clean, dry surface, spread it with a cloth and leave it — no polishing.

What about tyres and plastics?

Tyre sidewalls, guards and plastic parts go grey over time under the sun. Tires & Plastic Shine brings the colour back, adds a satin finish and protects against UV.

It leaves no greasy film, so dust does not stick to the surface straight after application. ⚠ Do not apply it to the tread — sidewalls only.

How do you protect clothing and eyewear?

Impregnation Spray restores water resistance to jackets and trousers that have started to soak through. The coating is breathable, so the garment still moves moisture out — which matters under effort.

Reproofing goes onto clean clothing; a dirty membrane will not take the coating evenly.

For fogging glasses and goggles there is Anti Fog. A thin layer stops water vapour condensing on the inner surface of the lens — useful in autumn, in winter and when riding in the forest.

How often should this be repeated?

A coating on the frame usually survives several washes — in practice it is worth renewing it every second or third wash, or after any hard ride through mud.

Clothing is reproofed when water stops beading on the fabric and starts darkening it. Anti Fog — at the first sign of fogging.
