What is the main difference between lime and black towel?
The main difference is colour and its practical application. Lime towel allows full visual control during work – you instantly see streaks, product residue and surface cleanliness level. It's ideal for drying, applying light products and finishing. Black towel better masks contamination from dark waxes and polishes, so it's great for more intensive detailing work. Many people use both colours systematically.
Won't the light colour get dirty quickly?
It's true that dirt is more visible on light material – but that's precisely its main advantage! You immediately see when the towel needs washing, which prevents working with a dirty tool. Light microfibre requires more frequent washing, but this ensures you always work with a clean towel. Additionally, it washes very well and quickly regains its original colour.
Which products is the lime towel best suited for?
Lime microfibre towel works great with light products: quick detailers, rinse aids, spray waxes, glass products. It's also excellent for drying vehicles after washing – on light material you'll immediately see if you've removed water properly. You can also use it with waxes in transparent or light shades. Avoid dark polishing compounds though – they may stain the material.
Can I wash the lime towel together with black one?
It's better to wash them separately, at least for the first few washes. Black towel may release some pigment that will settle on light material. After several washes, when colour stabilises, you can wash them together, but always at low temperature (maximum 40°C) and without fabric softeners.
How often should I replace the towel with a new one?
With proper care, OC1 towel can serve for years. Replace it when you notice it stops being soft, becomes rough to touch or loses absorbency. These are signals that fibre structure has been damaged. However, if you regularly wash the towel correctly (without softeners, at low temperature), it should withstand hundreds of uses.
Won't the lime colour fade after many washes?
Pigment is built into the fibre itself, not just applied superficially. This makes colour durable and it doesn't fade as quickly as with cheapest microfibres. After dozens of washes, slight shade fading is possible, but towel will still retain its characteristic lime colour.
Can I use this towel for cleaning vehicle interior?
Yes, OC1 lime microfibre towel works great for cleaning dashboard, plastics, leather upholstery or display screens. Soft structure doesn't scratch delicate surfaces. Remember however to use separate towel for interior and another for vehicle exterior – this prevents transferring dirt and chemicals.
Is this towel suitable for polishing goggles and visors?
Absolutely! Lime microfibre is ideal for cleaning helmet visors, goggles and motorcycle glasses. Delicate material doesn't scratch polycarbonate or acrylic, and excellent absorbency effectively removes streaks and deposits. Use it with dedicated OC1 Lens Cleaner for best results.
Can OC1 microfibre be used wet?
Yes, microfibre works excellently both dry and slightly dampened. When wet, it has even greater absorbency and cleaning effectiveness. Many people slightly dampen towel before applying quick detailers or removing dust from sensitive surfaces. Never use it completely wet for polishing though – it will leave streaks.
Why is the towel stiff after washing?
If towel is stiff after washing, you probably used rinse aid or fabric softener. These products coat fibres with layer that destroys their properties. You can try to "refresh" the towel by washing it several times in hot water (60°C) with vinegar instead of detergent. In most cases, this will help restore softness.
Is one towel enough for detailing entire motorcycle?
It depends on vehicle size and scope of work. Small scooter or bicycle can be finished with one towel. Larger motorcycle or quad may require two towels – one for drying, another for finishing with products. For best results and work comfort, it's worth having minimum 2–3 towels in rotation.
